Interview with Indian Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar

Ambassador Vinay Kumar underscored the robust ties between India and Russia, marked by a long-standing tradition of annual high-level visits. He highlighted the enduring practice of meetings between the Russian President and the Indian Prime Minister—a custom maintained for over two decades since its inception in 2000—which has become a cornerstone in deepening the multifaceted relationship between the two nations.

During the first visit in 2024, several trade and economic agreements were signed, and a joint declaration was issued, expanding the agenda for addressing bilateral, regional, and global challenges. Later, the Indian Prime Minister's visit coincided with the BRICS summit in Kazan, where he engaged in discussions with President Vladimir Putin, although no formal agreements were finalized. The ambassador stressed that such engagements not only reinforce traditional ties but also open new avenues for strategic cooperation.
