Narendra Modi: India will soon become the world’s third largest economy

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking to the Indian diaspora in Trinidad and Tobago, highlighted the country’s achievements in the economy, innovation, and the space sector. He emphasized that India is the world’s fastest-growing major economy and will soon become the third largest, with the benefits of this growth already reaching those in need.

Modi noted that, over the past decade, more than 250 million Indians have increased their incomes, with the youth playing a key role in economic development. India now ranks third globally in the number of startups, nearly half of which are led by women, reflecting the widespread embrace of innovation.

The Prime Minister also pointed out India’s success in digital payments: over 50% of all instant transactions worldwide are conducted through India’s UPI system. He congratulated Trinidad and Tobago for being the first country in the region to implement this technology.
